Triumph 650 pre unit T110 running order
Hello and welcome to my auction for this pre unit Triumph. I bought it from a friend completely dismantled, to help him clear his father's garage. I have assembled it to show that it is all there but not restored it. During assembly, I noted that the bores and pistons are good with minimal wear (+10.00) and the big ends and mains show no signs of wear. The gears and shafts are good but the selector cam plate is worn, making it difficult to select neutral. Also, the clutch has play although it works OK. The swing arm bearing is good as are the rear shocks. The engine runs without ominous noises but as yet, I haven't been able to sort out the carburation. It starts but spit and coughs under load. I will have another look this week but can't promise to sort it by auction end. The forks and front wheel are not Triumph. I think they are from an Ariel Huntmaster but can't be sure. I believe the fuel tank is also Ariel. Brakes and suspension work as they should. I have made no attempt to wire the lights or even test the dynamo because I don't know how. If you tell me what to do, I will happily test it.(My experience is with unit Triumphs with alternators) The V5 says that the bike was built from parts in 1970, hence the H registration suffix. The numbers show that the frame is 1958 and the engine 1956. Any further information or viewing (which I strongly recommend) in North Staffs, please ring 01782 551113 or 07779388249
