BSA STARFIRE 250cc (1969)
This bike is a 1969 BSA Starfire (B25), A non runner it is being sold as a project for renovation. I brought the bike 9 years ago and run it for a couple of years when the kick start return spring broke. It was then parked amongst my bike collection in the garage and I have never got round to replacing it, and to be honest I cannot see that changing so I have decided to sell it on. As far as I am aware (I am not an expert rivet counter!!) the bike is complete and the only part missing is the centre stand. The engine and frame numbers DO NOT match and as the number on the crank case ends in TR25W I suspect its had an engine swap with a Triumph TR25 (A Triumph re-badged BSA Starfire) sometime in the past. Although a non runner the engine is not seized and still turns over OK. It did run and ride well when in use all the gears worked ok as did the electrics. Most of the chrome is not perfect (looks better in the photos), on the plus side the metal good so that striping polishing and re-plating could be an option rather than replacement if you wished, the wheel rims for example are still the original British (stamped JONES-Made in England) . There is also some paintwork issues but again all the metal is good. The bike was treated to a complete new seat unit and that remains in very good condition. It is registered at the DVLC and has a V5C currently its SORN as you would expect. Please note cash on collection or funds must have cleared before I will release for collection. Thanks...
