Suzuki GT200 X5 - owned by me for 22 years. 1981 with only 15060 miles
Suzuki GT200 X5. 1981 with only 15060 miles. I bought this bike when I was 19 and took it to University. Whilst I was there (Manchester) some kids tried to steal it and broke the ignition key and plastic cover. I replaced the ignition with a new one at the time, but never got round to the cover. I then added drop bars and chopped the seat into a Cafe racer style - I know 200cc is pushing the idea of a racer - but hey. Since then I've got married, had three children, two dogs and numerous other bikes, but this one has moved house with me each time. However, I've come to realise (or been told !) that if I haven't restored the bike by now - will I ever. Fair nuff - it's now reluctantly for sale. Comes with new original parts that I bought from a dealer closing down, including: air scoop, chrome clock cover, cush drive rubbers, fork seals, throttle cable, speedo cable, piston rings and a few other bits. You are welcome to come and view. The engine has excellent compression and the frame is solid (I recall painting it in hammerite when I was 19). Bike is complete but needs a restoration. We live near Wickham Market, Woodbridge, Suffolk.
