Here we have a Kawasaki gpz500s, I have had her just over a year and done over 10k miles on her, when I bought her she was in a very sorry state, she hadn't been run for years, had bits missing and generally was set to be scraped by the previous owner.But with patience ............alot of patience from my wife lol I managed to get the bike running which wasn't pretty I'll tell you that!!! So gave her, her first service which looked like in years!!! New oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs and caps, she was still rattly and slugish, so gave the carbs a clean, they were not too bad as no fuel was left in them so it was only a quick squirt inside, then put a second hand cam tensioner on her, this did quieten her down ALOT!! Next was the valves and this made a significant difference to performance, she will do ton plus but obviously there is not proof to this mr police officer. The front fairing is different to the rest of the bike, this is because it didnt have one when I got it, although it has got the belly pan which is a different colour and is included in sale but I have recently put a set of stainless steel down pipes and motad silencer 2 into 1 sounds throaty now, better than standard. Has had new chain, fron and rear sprockets, also new retaining clip for front as the old one was worn, Had new front disc and pads after last MOT as this was an advisoy so done that and replaced the caliper seals and fluid whilst there, but needs new pads soon again!!
