Honda CB500 Cheap Commuter
This is a running bike with an MOT till September 2015. This has been a working bike rather than a garage bauble. Front tyre has plenty of wear left, rear some miles left. Reliable starter but could do with a tune. I bought this bike with MOT back in the autumn to commute to work (rather than using my sports bike) and also as a project bike to get me back into maintaining things myself. I have ridden it during the winter. Selling as now want to start on a more challenging project. The September 2014 MOT showed 6 advisories I have been working through these as per below as well as doing some general tidying up. Chain guard missing - I have added a standard chain guard Exhaust poor with corrosion and slight blow. I have patched the holes in the silencer and painted. The down pipes still need some attention. Rear disc worn. I have replaced the rear disc with a good used one. Rear brake lever slightly stiff. This is now fixed. The rear brake is still a bit grabby though and requires further attention. Rear swinging arm poor with surface corrosion. I removed it cleaned off the rust and painted. Both front forks have slight misting of oil and some pitting. Most of the pitting does not impact the seals. This still needs to be done. There is also some engine noise, especially evident at low revs. Not sure if this is significant but I thought I'd mention it.
