Kawasaki VN800 "Showtime" Bobber, 1997, Chop, Chopper, Custom, Cruiser, One Off

Kawasaki VN800 "Showtime" Bobber 1997 20'000 miles M.O.T February 2016 A true one off looking custom bobber, with Kawasaki build quality and reliability. The "Showtime" Bobber started out as a very clean, well maintained example of a fantastic bike, which sailed through its M.O.T. The work started at the rear, with the mudguard, seats and all the other unwanted crap being removed. The rear wheel was removed to be cleaned, polished, prepped and painted. The swing arm was prepped and any rust removed, before being treated to some paint. The raised rear frame brace/seat mount was removed with all wiring and electrics being re-located to the right hand side storage compartment. The battery, battery box and clamp were all lowered, before the brace was re-welded level with the frame, to allow a flat under seat plate to be made and fitted. I really wanted to avoid it looking like all the other VN bobber conversions, where the seat mount is left above the frame, making the solo seat sit way up in the air, throwing the lines of the bike way off and leaving you sitting on top rather down low and reaching forward, like any real bobber. The seat was then mounted on chrome torsion springs and custom tail/brake light and side mount number plate were fitted. The all too common and ever so predictable Highway Hawk exhaust was removed and replaced with custom straight pipes, out turned chrome tips and heat wrapped. The engine was cleaned, prepped, masked and treated to 6 coats of gloss black ...
