BSA B31 1952 Classic Vintage Motorcycle
For sale is my 1952 BSA B31. This totally original, unrestored, matching numbers motorcycle was last on the road in 1986 and has been laid up since. Every part and component is original as it left the factory in 1952 (I can't verify the bulbs!), down to its cable clips. Unfortunately, time and poor storage have taken its toll on the paintwork and chrome. I believe however, there's a decent bike under the twenty eight years of neglect with a day or two of cleaning. The tank has had something dropped on it leaving a 100mm light dent on the top and has also been repainted in black, covering what looks like, old english white underneath. The photographs illustrate clearly the overall condition when I purchased the bike and its current condition today. I've cleaned the tank, filters and points, replaced the spark plug, changed all the oils and got her started - to my astonishment she ticks over very sweetly indeed. I'm assuming all the gears work but I can't verify this as I haven't taken to the road yet. Considering the low mileage, healthy compression and general excellent overall mechanical condition, I'm confident that all is well elsewhere. I now have a tax disc until February 2015 and the V5c in my name. The TTW 210 number is transferable if you want. I bought the bike with the full intention of doing a restoration but, after consideration, I neither have the time or the ability to do it properly.
