Superb 1955 BSA Rocket Gold Star Replica. This bikes has undergone a complete restoration including new paintwork and chrome work, the bike has done 3404 very reliable miles since the rebuild. The engine was completely rebuilt including re-ground crankshaft with new rods, shells and all bearings, it has a re-sleeved block with new standard 8.5:1 pistons, new spitfire camshaft, the cylinder head is alloy with new hardened seats, valves and springs. The carburettor was a new Amal 389, the magneto, speedometer and rev counters have been rebuilt/restored and the wiring renewed with 12 volts electrics and a reconditioned dynamo and it had a new Boyer rectifier/regulator. The frame was powder coated and all other painted parts re-sprayed, the petrol tank was re-chromed and re-painted at a high cost, the swinging arm was modified as per GS and fitted with new bushes, the rear shock absorbers were renewed, the front forks have been overhauled with new stanchions, dampers, springs, bushes and oil seals, the headlamp and brackets are Goldie type. The bike is fitted with rear sets and the seat, chrome mudguards, swept back exhaust pipes and Goldie silencers, handle bars, levers and all cables were all new as were the primary and rear chains.The wheels were rebuilt with alloy rims, stainless steel spokes and new bearings and tyres and tubes, the brakes were overhauled with new shoes and springs, the front brake is a Triumph twin leading shoe.
