BSA B25 Starfire 1968 250cc
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Here we have my 1968 (G Reg) BSA B25 Starfire 250cc single. I purchased it in 1998 and one of my first journeys on it was to Inverness in Scotland (fully loaded for camping) from Milton Keynes in Bucks, I went the scenic route avoiding motorways, It got me there with no problems, on the return journey I traveled with other bikes that were 500 and 650cc, by the time I got home it was blowing past the piston, so I had a re sleeve, new piston and top end rebuild. I brought an A10 shortly afterwards and only used the Starfire as an occasional local runaround, It was last used in 2005 and has been in the back of my shed since. The Starfire will need the basics done to get it on the road in its current condition. Oil change , general lube of cables etc, the chain will need cleaning off and re oiling, new battery needed, fresh petrol and may need carb cleaning out if fuel has gone sticky …… it was put away as a running bike, still has good compression and selects all gears ok. While I had it, I fitted it with electronic ignition and a new alternator (rotor and stator) Tyres have good tread, engine and frame numbers match, I have handbook, workshop manual, lots of old MOT’s, V5C in my name. This is an old bike that is exempt from road tax but comes with some rust, paint chips and marks, also free dirt and dust, not an original color but that makes it different! Cash on collection or Paypal accepted, thanks.
