SUZUKI x5 GT200 CLASSIC BIKE NICE WINTER RESTORATION PROJECT X7 BROTHER
Suzuki GT200 X5 (PLEASE BEAR IN MIND PHOTOS ALWAYS FLATTER THE CONDITION!) Here we have a 'project' I purchased on a whim 2 years ago as I had one of these and an X7 when I was younger and just after I bought this I found an X7 so this has sat languishing in the back of the garage. Right, as far as I can see (tax disc and MOT) the bike was last on the road in 1989 and when it was MOT'd in 1989 had the mileage 10,178 and now reads 10,292 so would guess the mileage to be correct as I have 3 old MOT certificates also. I have NEVER had the bike running as I bought it to restore but it kicks over easily with very good compression so possibly with a carb clean may well burst into life but if it were me I would want to do more checks before attempting to start it. (Today I took the spark plugs out and the spark is there so it's got a good chance) Most of the chrome is poor and there is some rust on the frame but not so severe a good powder coat wouldn't cover. The yellow tailpiece has a crack that was done by me in the garage and it looks like it has had a seat cover but needs redoing as it is not straight! I have put a better pair of exhausts on the bike but the original pair of Undamaged pipes are also in the sale but need rechroming. I put a brand new petrol cap on but it does not seem to locate and lock properly so will need looking at but it will save you £50. The other couple of bits I cannot find are 2 little chrome exhaust joint trim, speedo cable, couple screws from switchg...
