honda xl 600 paris dakar 1985
welcome my friends for the auction of my xl600 paris dakar .its a 1985 model and pretty original,it starts easy off the electric starter and will probably start using the kicker but i dont want to kick a 600 single off if i can help it.i bought this to blatt around the east yorkshire countryside last year and its just the bike to do it on.the mot ran out in december so i took it off the road to do a full restoration but i simply dont have the time nowadays with extra work load ect.so its pretty original and was imported into this country in 98 .the plate is a age related b reg there are no dents in tank although there are a few small chips the fame needs re painting and exhaust silencer needs re newing as some strange soul has sawn end of silencer off then re attached with rivets,probably to re pack silencer or repair baffle.i put a brand new pirelli front tyre on 100 miles ago but rear has around 5mm left .the rear brake is poor so i am supplying new brake shoes for new owner to fit the seat cover was new when i bought it around a year ago the clocks are in kmh and mileage is 52000km.new filter and oil done less than 500 miles ago, all the switches work and lights and are original.the all important original honda rack is present,it has a slight oil leak from rocker box seal ,i fitted new wheel bearings when i bought it,stanchions are not pitted and seals dont leak,should fly through mot with no bother,so either keep original patina of a 30 year old paris dakar or restore to ...
