This is undoubtedly, the model of Royal Enfield bullet to have. The deluxe comes with a lot of extra features as standard, and has got to be considered the best looking. For most people considering buying a Bullet - an authentic Bullet is one with the original spec engine (pre lean-burn or unit construction) with a carburetor, drum brakes, tools in the toolbox and the sound that only a proper Bullet can make. This one is all of that, as well as being oil-tight, shiny and well looked after. It's done enough miles that you know it's been used and proven itself, but not so many that it's had anything other than an easy life. Wheels are perfect. No rust. Lovely, light patina to the paintwork. Conventional wisdom has it that the Royal Enfield's from the early part of the 2000's are the most desireable, as the finish quality was raised under new ownership and with an eye to the burgeoning 'home' market in the UK. Being the 500cc version, it has far more torque than the 350 but is close to the same dimensions and weight - something that will really be noticed: particularly when carrying a load or a passenger - or both. It is nimble, almost bizarrely economical, and a whole lot of fun - with all the charm, and limitations, that a proper Brit bike should have. It is eager to go, and pulls solidly through the gears.
